Rule 3a

There have been a number of bannings over the last couple of weeks, including some well known names within the CSM community over the 3a rule which has sparked alot of debate in the forums over the rule itself, the rule in question is

§3 Show sportsmanship

3.a: It is not allowed to deliberately decide the outcome of a match. This includes League, League Qualification, Cup, Champions League, Friendly League, Tournament and Ladder matches.
The Reason the majority of people are getting banned over this rule is because they prefer to stay in their current division where they can get a high placing the following season rather than try to promote to a higher division and struggle in the bottom half. The reason for this is purely a financial decision. You earn more money from sponsors placing higher in a lower league than you do by placing in the bottom half in a higher league

The debates on the forums are whether this rule exist whilst the sponsor system is how it is at the moment, the arguments against this rule are that there are too many ways that people can avoid getting promoted without raising enough proof to the admins that it deliberate to enforce the rule effectively and that the rule means you have to do something that isn't in the best interests of your team to prevent being banned.

The admins arguments for banning people is that the rule exists and that all rules are there to be followed whether you like them or not and that by doing this your promoting a weaker clan to a higher division than yourself.

with admins needing to be 100% sure (if there consistent with there bannings) then there appears to be little risk if you make the decision early enough in the league season to not get promoted.

i got some minor informations about a change of the sponsor system from a german admin, so there will be a change in the next upcomming 2 seasons, perhaps earlier.
That will make the situation more pro Managers, so they dont have to work against theire nature of beeing a good manager.

The point of bannings is .. the rule is there and everybody has to obey the rules .. if you break it you get banned no more discussion needed thats easy isnt it ?

If a rule is there and 99.9% of users abide by it and lose out because of it, the clan breaking the rule and gaining an advantage over other clans because they think the rule is wrong is still acting unfairly and breaking a rule.

Therefore they should be banned.

However, that fact that clans want to break this rule is the main question, but the rule should stay until a solution is implemented.

Everyone is aware of the problem. I think putting the blanket "admin" term over the team isnt that accurate as many admins dont agree with punishing people for doing what's best for their team. The thing is the rules were approved by the SA's and we should follow them. The last thing i'd want is 10 people in a league playing with red fitness/tactics facing walls and using the mac10....then imagine the pointlessness of qualifications!!!

It needs sorting out and people should expect to be punished for cheating.

It's all coming from the SA's not understanding the problem with financial system, when they first heard of the problem they thought raising the league winnings would solve the problem, but in truth it just made people even more reluctant to stay mid-table and try to get relegated and then win more league out-right.
